bcci awaits governmenet 's decison on coronavirus situation before taking a call on ipl..

the board  of control for cricket in india will wait for the government's decision regarding the ongoing coronavirus crisis before taking a call on the indian premier league .as of now ipl is postponed till april 15 we will wait for government decision and takes a call accordingly a bcci source told ani.

ipl was scheduled to commence on march 29 however the threat of coronavirus forced the postponement of the league until april 15.
on thursday odisha became the first state to extend the lockdown till april 30 after that several states such as punjab ,telangana,and maharashtra extended the lockdown to covid- 19.
other states to extend the lockdown till april 30 that several states such as west bengal,delhi extended the lockdown to covid-19.
when asked about the chance of the ipl  amid several states extending  its lockdown the source said "as of now i cannot comment on it in the coming few days we might talk to franchises again but as of now.no decision has been made we are closely monitoring the situation  and decided on ipl . 

heavy loss due to absence of ipl .

if ipl does not happen this time then bcci and franchisees will suffer a loss of about 10,000 crore if matches are held without spectators and player's public events are banned the franchisees will loss considerable sponsorship money and ticket revenue star sports has purchased will broadcast rights of ipl from bcci for five years for  RS 16,347 crore overall.according to an assessment ipl was canceled in this situation bcci and franchisees will suffer a loss of about RS 10,000 crore .
